Our Story
One day, we watched our nephew struggle to turn the pages of his favorite board book. After countless attempts to help, we realized there had to be a better way — so we created one.
Flipps is about access, dignity, and fostering a lifelong love of reading. Every person, no matter their age or ability, deserves the right to hold a book, turn its pages, and immerse themselves in a world of stories—without relying on temporary, fragile solutions.
Thoughtfully made for children
Flipps was created by a dedicated Special Education teacher and Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) with a Master’s in Special Education and over 20 years of experience working with children of all abilities. The idea for Flipps was born from a simple but powerful need—ensuring that every child, regardless of ability, can independently engage with books.
It all started with a handmade solution—hot-gluing popsicle sticks onto a board book to help a child turn the pages and enjoy their favorite stories without assistance. While effective, this makeshift fix lacked durability and took away from the integrity of the book and the pure joy of reading. From that moment, Flipps was designed to be more than just a tool—it became a mission.
